Dr. David Ford will moderate this question-and-answer session with Dr. Jack Rayman, co-editor of Dr. John Holland’s Autobiography. Dr. Rayman will briefly describe how the autobiography came about, and then dialogue with Dr. Ford with an emphasis on how Holland's Autobiography can powerfully inform the work of career counseling educators, researchers, and practitioners. The webinar will conclude with a Q & A session for participants.

Presenter Information:
Dr. Jack R. Rayman is Senior Director Emeritus of Career Services and Affiliate Professor of Counseling Psychology and Education at Penn State University. He is a long-time colleague and personal friend of Dr. Holland and was the Director of Career Services at Penn State University from 1983 to 2011. He is the author of more than 40 journal articles and book chapters and has authored or coauthored four books for career services professionals including: The Changing Role of Career Services (1993), Handbook for the College and University Career Center (1993), The Professional Counselor as Administrator (2006) and My Life with a Theory: John L. Holland’s Autobiography and Theory of Careers (2020). He is a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association (APA) Division of Counseling Psychology and the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE).
David Julius Ford, Jr. holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Wake Forest University. In May 2014, he earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at Old Dominion University. Dr. Ford is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and New Jersey. He is a Board-Certified Counselor (NCC) and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). Dr. Ford taught for four years at James Madison University and is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Professional Counseling at Monmouth University and is the Immediate Past-President of the New Jersey Counseling Association. He is the Co-Chair of the Branch Development Committee of the American Counseling Association, a member of the Black Male Experience Task Force of the American Counseling Association, and a newly elected Trustee for Counselor Education and Research for the National Career Development Association, a division of the American Counseling Association.
